Obama’s Not From Outer Space?!?!

Just a quick note on this Obama vs. Birther crap. I’m sorry but isn’t there a sense of blatant racism going on with the Republicans/Birthers? Since when did politicians ever go to these lengths to certify an American president’s birth? People will say that they aren’t pulling the race card. OK then, what is it? Once there’s another president that’s not white will this same birther crap continue or will it end with just Obama? American politics has to evolve. We set ourselves back hundreds of years with this nonsense.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Shepard Fairley’s Revolutions Opening

This past Saturday night, Shepard Fairley held his exhibition Revolutions at Los Angeles’ Robert Berman Gallery. If you’re not familiar with Fairley, he’s the one that designed the Obama poster you now see everywhere, along with plastering Obey art all over LA. The showing was in part a mini-retrospective featuring the numerous jobs which Shepard and Obey have done in their long history.

Pics after the jump.

Obama Calls for a New Era of Civility in U.S. Politics

Obama says:

“At a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized, at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do,” he said, “it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.”

Its sad when a tragedy like the one in Arizona wakes up the whole nation. I would just like to know how the NRA or anyone else in support of letting crazies have firearms feel about all this. Regardless, this shouldn’t have never went down and now innocent people had to pay.
