Apple I Hate You

Apple why must you torment me with your incessant updates/upgrades, leaving me to believe that my main problem with your glorious phone would be fixed. Alas, I finish upgrading and there’s nothing but minor changes that I’ll never notice. With the understanding that some bugs and security failures need attending to, I can never comprehend as to why you guys would overlook such a huge flaw in your device. You describe the phone with such grandiosity that it’ll make a blind person buy it.

More after the jump.

iPhone Blogging: Wieden-Kennedy NY Presents | The SHOP (Day 1)

The much anticipated sample sale has begun. I’m going to keep this short since I have to get ready to head back there for Day 2, Nick Catchdubs is djing and frankly, he’s fucking cold. Anyway, the prices are SERIOUSLY low and they’re always restocking once something is sold out, meaning that there’s an endless supply of fresh clothing. The space is quaint but big enough to hold 200-300 people and 3 dogs. The sale has virtually everything from glasses, bracelets, winter/snowboarding jackets, shoes, etc. So if you have the money and time come to 150 Varick today at 5pm. Of course I’ll be there.

Pics after the jump.

Blackberry Messenger To Expand?

Blackberry has made the quantum leap into phone apps. They will now unleash Blackberry Messenger to Android and soon iOS (iPhone).

BGR has learned from multiple trusted sources that Research In Motion is planning to bring its beloved BlackBerry Messenger app and service to Android, and eventually to iOS as well. According to our sources, RIM has not yet finalized details surrounding timing or pricing, but we have heard that the company might make the software free to all users. We’re also told strategy is still being developed, however, and RIM may end up charging users a one-time fee or even a recurring fee for access to its BBM service on third-party platforms.

It might seem a bit strange for RIM to want to bring the software that is responsible for keeping BlackBerry devices in the hands of countless potential defectors, but in the big picture, we think it could make sense. The company is getting very frustrated with applications like WhatsApp and Kik offering third-party experiences based on a concept RIM invented, and RIM apparently wants to own the space.

As far as what Android and iOS users can look forward to, we’ve been told RIM will offer stripped down versions of the BBM experience BlackBerry owners know and love. That way, Android and iOS users can communicate with practically anyone who has a smartphone using BBM, but they might not be able to share photos, location, or videos (when RIM crosses that bridge). Users who want the full BlackBerry Messenger experience will still need a BlackBerry smartphone to get it. At the same time, RIM could own the entire messaging app category on every major smartphone OS platform and could potentially draw new users in because it has given them a taste of what BlackBerry Messenger is all about.

Right now, we have heard that Android is definitely a go. But again, we’re not sure on timing, though our sources are confident that it will launch some time this year. RIM chose Android first because of the fact that it could develop and integrate something like this much easier with an open platform, but the plan is to build and deploy an iOS version at some point as well.

Military-Grade Phone Case

Do you want virtually a bomb-proof phone case? Of course you do. Ballistic HC is the first and only cases to meet military specifications. Basically, you can drop your iPhone off a 20-story building and the case wouldn’t crack, but I would try it though. The case went through tests for drop damage, vibration, extreme temperatures, humidity and dust to gain certification. It also has connector seals, water-resistant meshes and tough lenses to make sure that dust, dirt and other harmful materials don’t damage your phone.

The case is available for iPhone 4s, some Blackberry Curves, and HTC Evo.

Moshi Moshi 03 Phone

Sleek and functional is all we need with this new iPhone attachment. The question is, are we really going to use this? No. It does provide VoIP, but outside of that, its mainly for aesthetics.
