Would You Drink Alcohol Packaged Like This?

Created by the artist Jorn from Düsseldorf, these bottle have a new spin to them. At first I was skeptical then realized I could drop one of these and it wouldn’t shatter. But they do seem a bit cumbersome, outside of that they’re actually pretty dope.

iLove: Japanese Architecture

Nothing crazy, just simple and clean.

Another small scale (and small budget) Japanese wood house spotted on Dezeen: the Small Box House is built on the western hillside of Mt. Moiwa, overlooking the city of Sapporo. The architects designed the space to have a barnlike feel with separate living areas (the owners plan to open a cafe on the premises in the future). To see more of the firm’s work, go to Akasaka Shinichiro Atelier.

Would You Work Here?

Skype’s Modern Palo Alto Office design

Welcome to Skype’s Palo Alto office. Pretty dope isn’t it? Is Skype’s office better than Google’s in the UK though?

Skype recently hired architecture and interior design firm Blitz to renovate their current 54,000 sq ft space in Palo Alto. Their primary goal was to create a world-class office that would differentiate themselves from their Bay Area competitors. Ultimately, they want to recruit the best talent in the field.

The new space reflects Skype’s spirit of innovation in a highly functional yet creative workplace designed to encourage interaction and spontaneity. Specific acoustic requirements were made in order to support the audio and video capabilities of their 250 employees. The project is seeking LEED Silver certification.

LeBron James And Furniture?

In WTF news, LeBron James has a furniture line called Home Court by LeBron. The line is catered towards kids, you have to admit, the guy knows how to keep his brand relevant in all aspects. If you have any interest you purchase this line at Value City & American Signature stores.

Logomo Cafe

From the mind of Tobias Rehberger, comes this mind-bending and cataract-inducing installation his collaborated with Artek. He transforms the interior of a cafe in Finland into this brain-fuckery. Come to find out this is Rehberger’s second time doing an installation like this. Prior to his latest, the designer created a visually disorientating environment for the cafeteria at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni. Regardless, although I think its brilliant, I would never eat there while hungover.

The Rehberger installation will be on view December 18, 2011 at the Logomo Cafe in Turku, Finland.

Octopus Chair By Maximo Riera

This design is dope to the 5th power! Here’s what creator Maximo Riera had to say:

The Animal Chair collection constitutes a diverse range of species, from mammals to reptiles, and even including insects. Each creation retains the animal’s natural vitality whilst being totally biological accurate in their appearance. This collection is homage to these animals and the whole animal kingdom which inhabits our planet, as an attempt to reflect and capture the beauty of nature in each living thing.

Octopus Book: the Octopus Chair is the first piece of the Animal Chair collection, and it establishes a base and point of departure for the pieces to come.

The Spanish designer will take on lions, wales, and walrus in the near future.
