Video: The Pursuit Of (Cool) | Coltrane Curtis

This series is too dope and inspiring. I feel the up-and-coming generation needs to follow this series. Not only does it document influential people of now, it goes into their history and how they came to be what they are now. The influencers who influenced them.

DAMN! THAT’S A BIG ASS BOOK!

Ecriture1.jpg

All I know is that that’s a big ass book and I want to jot, doodle, scribble, transcript, and scribe on it.

Starting at Tokyo’s Mori Art Museum in 2006, Cameroon-born artist Bili Bidjocka and Lausanne-born curator Simon Njami have been traversing the world inviting creatives of varied professional backgrounds to write on the blank pages of eight enormous books “as if it were their the last opportunity to hand write something.” Their project, called Ecriture Infinie, emphasizes the gestures of writing and the flow of pen on paper rather than actual content.

GQ x Rick Ross’ Simple Lessons for Bosses, Dons, and Bitches

GQ’s Devin Friedman spends a day/night with Rick Ross and shares the experience. I’m not going to say much since it’s a read you should dive into.

In the age of hipster rap, the dude on top is a 300-pound former corrections officer who stole the name of a drug dealer. Devin Friedman spends one day and one wild night learning from the reigning godfather of hip-hop.

Real Niggas Don’t Send Dick Flicks…..

USA Needs This!

Sleepbox

If this comes to the US it’s over for me. Full hibernation mode. You couldn’t tell me nothing. We do have sleep areas in the States but they are NOTHING like this, its more like a kindergarten “nap-time” set up. Bitch I’m grown, give me a room and some privacy.

Originally conceptualized in 2009. Russian architects Arch Group have completed the first of their tiny hotel rooms for napping at airports. The Sleepbox unit at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport contains two beds and can be rented for between 30 minutes and several hours. Sleepbox, a personal, rentable, portable box with a bed and outlets to juice up your gadgets. It is constructed from ash-veneered MDF, although future units could instead be made from metal or glass-reinforced plastic. It is the perfect private rest stop for any airport, features include up to three beds, sockets for charging up gadgets, luggage storage space under the bed, LED-reading lamps, electric-driven blinds, Wi-Fi, safety deposit box and even a touchscreen TV.
Available options include:
Matted film on windows with changing transparency
Mood lighting – LED lamps with changing light colors
Built-in media block (TV, touch-screen monitor)
Wi-Fi router
Alarm, intercom
Safe deposit box
Built-in payment station with magnetic keys

Video: Super Mario Bros. Played In A Box?

It’s so simple but cool as hell. Vintage!

Using a Teagueduino and a few inputs and outputs, we put together a physical side-scrolling video game. To control it, there’s a knob on the side. As time advances the game gets faster and faster — can you avoid all the obstacles and make it to the end?

INSA Makes Girls On Bikes Look Hot!

INSA Girls On Bikes

I’ve seen these pictures floating around the internets and always wondered who took them. Now that I finally found out and saw the whole set I’m effing elated. Come on now, hot girls on bikes?! You can’t go wrong.

During his successful exhibition in Hong Kong, INSA unveiled the completed set of his ongoing public installation project, Girls On Bikes. Now the rest of the world will get to see the 12 individual photos that work together as a unified piece. The seemingly random images seeks a deeper meaning on how we perceive ownership of public space, represented by his mural, of sexuality, represented by overtly sexualized female presence and of belongings, represented by the bicycles. Majority of the photographs were taken in London, however there are some exceptions with San Fransisco, Ghent, Los Angeles and Hong Kong mixing things up.

Video: The Minimalist Bicycle

Salute to designer Joey Ruiter at Inner City Bikes for this idea.

It is a sci-fi cycle with the essentials only: an aluminum frame, freewheel rear hub, 36-inch tires, disc brakes, custom-fit cranks, and a seat. Not even a chain or drive train.

Priced between $3,000-5,000

Bar Refaeli’s Twitter Pics Are Delightful

Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli seems to take a ton of photos on Twitter, judging by the photos she’s pretty damn cool and she plays video games. Let’s not forget how god damn good she looks as well. I can see why Leo had such a had time letting her go. But for Blake Lively? Chill son.

Veuve Clicquot Origami??

vorigami1.jpg

What we have here is Clicq’up Origami Ice Bucket by Mathias van de Walle. The whole idea is pretty damn cool. The only I problem I have is that Veuve Clicquot has ran it course, at least with me. Every brunch or dinner someone wants to order a damn bottle. Don’t get me wrong its tasty, but I’m over it. Now I’m on the quest to find another overpriced bottle of champagne to fulfill my inner smugness.

Video: 65,000 CDs Made This

“WasteLandscape” is a 500 square meters artificial undulating landscape covered by an armor of 65 000 unsold or collected CDs, which have been sorted and hand-sewn. It is well known that CDs are condemned to gradually disappear from our daily life, and to later participate in the construction of immense open-air, floating or buried toxic waste reception centers.Made of petroleum, this reflecting slick of CDs forms a still sea of metallic dunes: the art work’s monumental scale reveals the precious aspect of a small daily object.
