Video: Jalen Rose x Jimmy King Discuss “Uncle Tom” Comment

I see where Jalen is coming from and I don’t necessarily disagree, but I wouldn’t call them an ‘Uncle Tom,’ but at the same when I was in high school I did have those same thoughts about their black players unfortunately. Your thoughts?

Update: ESPN won’t let me share this, watch it here.

Video: Snake Dies From Biting Breast Implant

Who knew fake breasts were deadly? Au naturel my ladies.

She let out a high-pitched scream, as did a voice off camera who appeared to be directing the shoot.
An assistant rushed in to help her pull the snake off and after a few seconds of struggle the creature released its grip.
The peroxide-blonde model was rushed to a nearby hospital and given a tetanus shot.
However, the snake wasn’t so lucky and died from silicone poisoning.

“Yarn Bombing” The SEPTA

Earlier today I got a message from a certain Ishknits yarn bombing artist telling me that she was heading out this afternoon to bomb SEPTA’s Blue Line and invited me to tag along to photograph it all for this blog. (Which, first off, is amazing; thanks to all the street artists who have, and are continuing to, contact me about stuff like this. Love it!!)

Needless to say I hopped right on the El, and from 15th street to 69th street and then back to the Dolphin street stop, she installed 3 pieces on 3 different trains. And even while we started on a near empty train by the end it was the beginning of rush hour and the train was packed, all the people on each train we very excited about the work. Moving out of our way when we needed them too, taking photos, and chatting with both of us. One older woman even asked us excitedly, “is this for the internet?” “Yup, it is, ma’am.”

Shepard Fairley’s Revolutions Opening

This past Saturday night, Shepard Fairley held his exhibition Revolutions at Los Angeles’ Robert Berman Gallery. If you’re not familiar with Fairley, he’s the one that designed the Obama poster you now see everywhere, along with plastering Obey art all over LA. The showing was in part a mini-retrospective featuring the numerous jobs which Shepard and Obey have done in their long history.

Elizabeth Lambert Is Soccer’s Ron Artest

This is from ’09 but I completely forgot about how dirty these plays were. Unfortunately, dirty play is part of sports whether we like it or not. I tell you one thing the women’s national team should pick her up, she’ll be the intimidator.
